“Hot Town”

I have a list of games I cannot work with: the debug fascists, the texturally challenged, the antialias impaired. But that list is getting smaller, and here’s a game that’s fallen right off the top. Liberty City is a most extraordinary open world trapped behind some of the ghastliest technical issues ever to strike a triple-A PC game. Freeing it requires extraordinary measures, not least the use of the often ruinous ENB Series wrapper which, in this rare case, does wonderful things by adding indirect lighting, screen space ambient occlusion, colour correction and improved reflections. Installing it’s the easy part. Tools and tricks: ENB Series wrapper with custom settings, Simple Trainer 6.3, game version 1.0.4.0, invisible character, gravity and collision disabled, jump height adjusted, ragdolls frozen, climate/time control, no-HUD, 2160p rendering, offline antialiasing pass.
